The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is a strong advocate for digital age learning and educational technology. The goal of ISTE is to improve teaching, learning, and educational leadership. Their efforts include working with our nation’s policy makers and educators. However, their efforts reach across the globe and consist of community members committed to advancing, enhancing, improving, informing, leading, advocating, and supporting educational technology.

ISTE has published essential conditions and national educational technology standards (NETS) defining educational technology for three fundamental components of education: a) administrators; b) teachers; and c) students. Included here are the latest links and pdf files for: a) “Essential Conditions;” b) “NETS for Teachers 2008;” and c) “NETS for Students 2007.” Each of these documents contains standards which address collaboration as part of the overall strategy for successful learning experiences utilizing technology in education.
